REVIEW: MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN

It’s being made into a film. Says as much on the golden circular sticker on the front. So this story has got to have something going for it, surely?

The black and white pictures provide novelty value, most of them real, really old and genuinely chilling as a result.

The story itself is broad and brave, taking us from the USA to a Welsh island, and taking in war, warring families, time travel and evil monsters.

That’s not to mention the eponymous kids with weird talents.

I enjoyed it, despite not being target audience – this is geared towards Young Adults, ya? Did I enjoy it enough to see what was advertised on that golden circular ticket on the front? Hmm, I’ll be happy to wait for the DVD.
